Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding - Taylor's, Bangladesh High Commission & University of Dhaka


On 11 April 2022, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences with Bangladesh High Commission, Malaysia and Centre for Genocide Studies, University of Dhaka, successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU signing was conducted via Zoom platform attended by 90 participants from the three parties.

Prof. Dr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Executive Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, Taylor’s University, Malaysia did the symbolic signing witnessed by Prof. Dr. Anindita Dasgupta, Head of School, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Meanwhile, for Bangladesh High Commission, Malaysia, the MoU was signed by his Excellency Mr. Md. Golam Sarwar, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, witnessed by Mr. Mohammad Khorshed A Khastagir, Minister & Deputy High Commissioner, Bangladesh High Commission, Malaysia. And representing the University of Dhaka was Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer of University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, witnessed by Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Director, Centre for Genocide Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.


This tripartite alliance collaborated through webinars, e-workshops, research, and publications looking into topics like culture and language, migration, sustainable development, international politics & relations and international trade & business.

After the MoU signing, the event continued with Dignitary Messages by Her Excellency Ambassador Ms. Mashfee Binte Shams, Secretary (East), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh and Her Excellency Ms. Haznah Md. Hashim, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh. SLAS invited two students Ms. Aza Jemima Ahmed Zainamin, from Bachelor of Social Science, Taylors University and Mr. Faizaan Rabib Islam, President, Taylor’s Bangladesh Students Society, to deliver congratulatory messages.
