Bachelor of International Events Management (Hons) students from Taylor's School of Hospitality, Tourism & Events (SHTE) and their Event Lecturer, Ms. Khairiah Ismail were involved in the 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) held at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
This event was officiated by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob. As part of the organizing committee, the students were required to plan and coordinate the MIHAS Photo and Video Competition with the theme of 'Muslim-Friendly Travel’ to exhibit the selected photos and videos for the final stage judging by the respective judgers from Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
Through this involvement, the students had the opportunity to learn how to organize international exhibition and build networking for their upcoming projects and internship. The MIHAS organizer was very happy with the collaborative effort with Taylor's University as an education partner this year to assist them in organizing the Muslim-Friendly Travel Photo and Video competition that was open to all residing in Malaysia. MIHAS organizer is also interested to have another collaboration with Taylor's School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events for MIHAS 2023 that is planned to be held in September 2023 at MITEC.
