Taylor’s Institutional Partnership Department and School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events in their plans to expand the flagship programme Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (Hons), had mutually agreed for an Articulation pathway programme with Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam several years ago. As part of assuring the success of articulation collaboration and to promote engaging teamwork, Ms. Sumana Lam, Manager of Institutional Partnership and Mr. Pee Zhen Yu, Manager of International Student Recruitment along with Dr. Ruth Sabina Francis, Programme Director, Bachelor of International Hospitality Management visited Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) at Ho Chi Minh City in mid June.
The Taylor’s University delegates met with Dr. Phung Minh Tuan, Director - Center of Applied Technology and Science Management Development; Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Acting Director - International Cooperation Research and Training Institute; Ms. Le Thi Vui, Assistant Director - International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute and the key faculty members from the Department of Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business Administration. The exciting plans were discussed to strengthen the academic collaboration further such as Faculty Development Engagements for TDTU, potential Visiting Professorial appointments, and other mutually beneficial projects.
Following there was a Bachelor of International Hospitality Management Programme Briefing conducted by Dr. Ruth highlighting on three shifts in the current Hospitality industry namely "Shift in the Hotel Industry", "Shift in Hospitality Pedagogy" and "Shift in Graduates’ Expectations" as well as how Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events embed this in their curriculum. The session was continued with the Admission Process Briefing done by Mr. Pee.
Prospective students from Ton Duc Thang University were counselled by the Taylor’s delegates on their programme, admission, student lifestyle at Taylor’s, and life in KL. Taylor’s - TDTU meeting came to an end with an amazing tour of their wide camps and their facilities!
