Becoming A Teacher of Change, For Change

Maturing markets and local demands for international schools have set a new climate for the development of global-minded educators.

In meeting the demands for international school teachers, Dr. Logendra Stanley Ponniah, Head of School, School of Education (SoEd), Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, Taylor's University presented the data on the growth of international schools in Malaysia in the foreseeable future, and how SoEd is adapting its Bachelor of Education programme to prepare future practitioners for this competitive market.

Ms. Mindy Tay Pei Lin, Programme Director for the Bachelor of Education programme, drew the attention of the audience, who were prospective students in the programme to the employability of SoEd graduates. With an employability rate of 100% for both 2018 and 2019, coupled with the average starting salary of RM 3000 and job market opportunities in the international market are some of the more noteworthy evidence of the school’s achievements in producing work-ready graduates.
