While Stadium Merdeka has special significance for many Malaysians, students from DE14 had their first encounter of this heritage venue during this visit. As part of the module content for Event Venues & Facilities (EVT40104), these first semester students visited the Stadium to determine the types of events that were staged at this historical venue. The Stadium Manager, Encik Alias, and his team demonstrated excellent hospitality by warmly receiving the students as they enter the gates right until they departed. Students were surprised with goodie bags and Encik Alias’ briefing on the process of declaring the venue as a heritage site by Unesco in 2008.
