Taylor’s University, Malaysia and Horizon Campus, Sri Lanka sealed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on the 16th of January 2023, a day marked a significant milestone in both institutions’ history as the franchise programmes from Taylor’s University will be delivered in Sri Lanka. Four Taylor's Undergraduate Programmes from four leading schools, Taylor’s School of Media and Communication, School of Hospitality, Tourism & Events, School of Computer Science and The Design School under two faculties, Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management and Faculty of Innovation and Technology will lead the way and kick off this partnership between the two institutions.
Horizon Campus is a leading private university in Sri Lanka geared to provide an inspiring learning experience to students within a holistic university atmosphere. The Campus opens its doors marking a cornerstone in the national educational sector of the country, with the aim of delivering a fully-fledged generation to the world of tomorrow. Horizon Campus offers undergraduate courses approved 15 accredited degree courses under the five faculties - Faculty of Education, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of International Programs, Faculty of Management and Faculty of Science. Every year, more than 1200 students get enrolled in the academic programmes for Sri Lankan degrees as well as the degrees offered by top universities in UK, USA, and Asia.
Witnessed by His Excellency Air Chief Marshal Sumangala Dias, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Malaysia, the agreement was signed by the Top Leadership from both institutions whereby Taylor’s University represented by Prof. Michael John Driscoll, Vice Chancellor & President and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Nair, Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Chief Academic Officer. Horizon Campus was represented by Mr. Upul Daranagama, Chaiman and Mr. Ayesh Fernando, Director.
Through this strategic partnership, the prominent School of Hospitality, Tourism & Events and School of Media & Communication under the Faculty of Social Sciences & Leisure Management will be offering two selected Undergraduate Programmes - Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (Hons) and Bachelor of Mass Communication (Hons) to further expand its international reach and create a positive educational impact on the Sri Lankan community. This strategic partnership also aims to provide quality education and industry-ready graduates through the franchise Undergraduate Programmes offered by Taylor's University to Horizon Campus.
Both institutions are thrilled and optimistic that the education provided through the programmes will benefit the respective country.
